Thanks so much for your response. I am slowly beginning to trust in the Universe’s abundance. And I like what you said about leaving arrogance behind. Humility and arrogance are just two sides of the same coin … much like giving and receiving.

This is definitely me, Laurie! I have gotten better about accepting compliments and help over the years, but there was a part of me that resisted no matter what. I like the idea of reminding myself that I don’t want to deprive others of the opportunity to give.

Hi Laurie,

that is an inspiring article. I agree with Marcus that personal stories make a blog post way more interesting.Giving is as much an art as receiving, and you are right: Without receiver no giver. And a grateful receiver is also a giver. And if we are able to give and receive gratefully (without arrogance for example) we never need to worry again about falling short of something because we’re part of the universe’s abundance.

Hi Laurie,

Loved reading your personal story here. These make blog posts so much more interesting.

The line that jumped out at me was

“I now understand that by not asking others for help, we are depriving them of the opportunity to give.” –

This is such an amazing realization. When we understand this we also understand how we can empower others without them even knowing. Awesome insight you have shared.

As you know I have just written a post on how to ask for things and as you commented, often the reason why people don’t ask is because they aren’t open to receiving.

you have choosen a very impacting and touching topic! we should be definitely open for both aspects: Giving and Receiving.

we are all humans and we love to help eachother out and the way we do it is offering our help.

personally i like both giving and taking. currently im more focused on giving people high quality information to change their life in a positive way!!! everything that is comming back is helping me also out!!
