Happy New Year!

Year of the Fire Rooster comes a crowing saying, Wake up!

His crow alerts us that a new day is dawning, but we must rise and mobilize into action as we come together for the wellbeing of our roost/planet. ~Mystic Mamma

At last the 2016 Year of the Fire Monkey has ended, leaving in its wake chaos and the end of the world as we know it in the U.S. and many Western democracies.  Fortunately, the impulsiveness and drama of 2016 is coming to an end. January 27-28, 2017 ushered in the Chinese New Year of the Fire Rooster with the New Moon in Aquarius.

My favorite astrologers over at Mystic Mamma believe that the Year of the First Rooster can help foster a period of transformation and a new vision of justice and equality  — if only we rise to the challenge.

You can see it in our streets and in our airports. People are joining their voices to stand for love and inclusion. They are rising to oppose discrimination against people of color, women, immigrants, Muslims, and the LGBTQ community. They are insisting that our government honor science and protect our planet for future generations.

The Year of the Fire Rooster can help support this global movement for peace, democracy and social justice if we harness the energy it brings to the table. The Fire Element carries the potential for growth, love, insight, and passionate leadership.  The Fire Rooster brings the qualities of resourcefulness, responsibility, and direct, decisive action. The Fire Rooster is not just out for himself. He is socially responsible and service-oriented.

That kind of energy has the potential to change the course of history if we stay focused on our collective long term goals. To that end, I have pulled together a collection of quotes that amplify the gifts the Fire Rooster has to offer.

The Fire Rooster is Self-Expressed

The Fire Rooster is Social

The Fire Rooster is Resourceful

I always find quotes to be a source of inspiration and solace when I get overwhelmed with the issues of the day. I hope this collection will bring you strength to step up and stand in your truth as we navigate the political and spiritual challenges of our time. My closing quote sums it all up perfectly, and is going to hang on my computer screen to keep my vision alive in the coming year.

This Rooster greets the new day with all the elegance, strength and vibrancy of its entire being, in service to the community. Let us all do the same. ~© Copyright 2017 ~Karen Abler CarrascoAll Rights Reserved.
